Our story
Why 78.
In March 2016, Go champion Lee Sedol sat down against AlphaGo, Google DeepMind’s AI. He lost the first three games. In game four, he played move 78, a move so unexpected it threw the machine off. AlphaGo faltered, then resigned. It was the only game a human won.
Lee didn’t play 300 brilliant moves. He played one. Move 78 was judgment, arriving at the one moment in the game where judgment changed the outcome.
“While AI is powerful, it is made more so when human ingenuity is the point of that power, not the casualty.”
